Is Solar Worth It in Melbourne?
If you are looking for an environmentally friendly way to reduce your electricity consumption during daylight hours solar is an excellent option. Even with Melbourne’s variable weather, modern solar panels continue to generate electricity on cloudy days, with peak production occurring during sunny conditions.
With rising electricity prices and quality solar systems designed to operate for decades, solar remains one of the most effective ways to reduce your reliance on the grid while lowering your environmental impact.
What Areas of Melbourne Do You Provide Residential Solar Installations?
For residential solar installations, we help homeowners throughout the eastern areas of Melbourne and the surrounding region. These include and are not limited to: Beaconsfield, Belgrave, Croydon, Dandenong, East Melbourne, Ferntree Gully, Gembrook, Healesville, Launching Place, Lilydale, Mount Evelyn, Mulgrave, Narre Warren, Olinda, Pakenham, Upwey and many more areas of Melbourne’s east and the surrounding area.

Can You Help Me Design and Customise a Solar Energy System to Suit My Home?
Yes, as part of your new solar installation, we’ll help you design the system to suit the needs of your home.
How Long Does It Usually Take to Complete a Residential Solar Setup?
The installation of a residential solar energy system varies depending on the location of the home, its roof and any unique energy requirements for that home. In most cases, for a Melbourne home, this can be around 1 to 2 business days. Before proceeding with the installation, we’ll advise you on the time required.
What Warranty Is Included?
Our solar workmanship warranty is 10 years. This is above the minimum 5-year warranty that many installers provide. This covers rare issues arising from the installation.
The products we install include various warranty lengths, depending on the brand and model.
The solar panels that we provide and install include a product warranty that ranges from 12 to 25 years. They also include a performance warranty that ranges from 25 to 40 years.
The batteries that we install include a manufacturer’s warranty of 10 years.
The inverters that we install include a manufacturer’s warranty that ranges from 5 to 25 years.
Can I Add More Panels or a Battery to My System Later?
In many cases you can expand your solar system in the future, but this depends on how the original system is designed.
Adding additional solar panels relies on your existing inverter having spare capacity, available MPPTs (Maximum Power Point Trackers), or the ability to accommodate additional solar strings. Roof space, inverter sizing and distributor approval requirements may also influence future expansion options.
Battery expansion is also possible with many modern battery systems, although the available expansion options vary by manufacturer and model.
During your solar assessment we will discuss your long-term energy goals and advise on the best system configuration to maximise future expandability.
What Size Solar System Do I Need for My Home?
The right solar system size depends on several factors including your available roof space, budget, current electricity usage, future energy needs and your goals for reducing electricity costs.
During your consultation we work with you to understand your energy consumption and design a system that best suits your requirements. We also consider future changes such as adding an electric vehicle, battery storage, home extensions, or switching from gas to electric appliances. This ensures your system is designed with long-term value in mind.
Every home and every customer is different which is why there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Your solar system should be tailored to your individual needs to maximise performance, savings, and return on investment for years to come.
How Many Solar Panels Will I Need?
The number of solar panels you need depends on the system size that best suits your home. This is determined by your electricity usage, roof space, budget, and future energy needs.
Once we understand your usage and goals, we design a system size and then calculate how many panels are required based on panel wattage, roof layout, and site conditions like shading and orientation.
Your system is tailored to your needs to ensure strong performance, savings, and long-term value.
Do I Need a Council Permit or Planning Approval to Install Solar?
In most cases no council permit or planning approval is required to install standard rooftop solar on a residential home in Victoria.
There are a few exceptions where approval may be needed such as if your property is heritage listed, an embedded network, in a planning overlay area or part of an apartment/strata building.
For the majority of homes solar installation is considered a minor building alteration and can proceed once electrical compliance and network requirements are met.
Which Payment Methods Are Accepted by You?
We accept direct deposit, major credit cards, cash and cheque for residential solar installation payments. If you would like to pay via an alternative method, please contact us to arrange this.
Do You Provide Payment Plans or Finance?
We do not offer payment plans, but we can connect you with a finance provider if required.
